What: “The Sustainable Asylum Center” is a new prototype of a sustainable and inspiring asylum center, challenging current problems at the danish asylum centers.
Who: The prototype was developed in a partnership between Chora Connection and Danish Red Cross in collaboration with Human Habitat and other local actors. The focus is to establish organic farms at Danish asylum centers, in order to activate users, strengthen the community and provide the center with locally sourced vegetables.
Role: Chora Connections has initiated and facilitated the development of the prototype in collaboration with Red Cross. Chora also facilitated a workshop with several experts from working with refugees.
Status: The prototype was tested at asylum center Jelling and Auderød in 2016. The results and experiences were integrated into the S.E.E.S project, that was initiated in 2016.
