About
Chora Connection’s vision is to achieve a sustainable and resilient Denmark.
For that purpose, in 2014 the organisation received funding from the VELUX Foundation and VILLUM foundation.
Vision and Mission:
Chora Connection is a Danish non-profit organisation established in 2015 with the vision of achieving a sustainable and resilient Denmark.
Chora Connection’s mission is to meet the UN Sustainable Development Goals before 2030 by driving concrete behavioural change towards a sustainable society in Denmark as well as challenge the way we think, live, consume and produce.
Chora will achieve its mission by creating interdisciplinary and innovative partnerships across sectors, disciplines and organisations, with the purpose of developing new experimental prototypes within the framework of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Chora Connection is established as a business foundation lead by a secretariat and a board. The organisation is politically and economically independent.

Organization:
The Danish sustainability organization carries out prototypes in Denmark within the framework of the UN 17 Sustainable Development Goals and is supported by the VELUX Foundations.
Chora Connection is a non-profit foundation that develops prototypes and models for the implementation of sustainability on a wide range of issues in the Danish society i.e. organic agriculture and food production, resources (circular economy and cradle2cradle issues), education for sustainable development, educating refugees in permaculture, food production and sustainability, sustainable building and sustainable entrepreneurship and more.
Chora Connection is currently divided in four hubs that each carries out new prototypes:
- HUB 1 is working with the two themes MAKE & LIVE
- HUB 2 is working with the two themes GROW & EATH
- HUB 3 is working with the themes BE & LEARN
- HUB 4 is working with the theme RESILIENCE

Funding
The daily operation of Chora Connection is financed by the VILLUM and VELUX foundations in a 5-year period running from primo 2015 until ultimo 2019. Chora Connection has also recieved project funds from Statens Kunstfond and Udlændingestyrelsen.
